about sister sadada 

i am a student of embodied liberatory practices: i live in my body and vacation in my mind. i am black nipmuc of irish decent. i am an embodied liberation teacher. i work with individuals and groups who do the work of healing and educating. the aim of my work is to resouce and guide embodied liberation in our relationships and our structures. i believe that a love-based relationship with all of our bodies is essential to all liberation. i approach my work as a guide, supporting and resourcing the developing and deepening of embodied love-based ways of being. i use movement, yoga, breath, rituals, and ceremony in partnership with the earth elements when i work with individuals and groups. 

 

in my work, i maintain a clear and generative heart and mindset. i rely on the partnership my labor and the labor of those i work with inform our time together. i am deeply committed to care, access, love, spaciousness, and the liberation for all beings- unseen and seen. my commitments are rooted in my black and indigenous identities and traditions. for over 20 years I have been a practitioner of contemplative practices in buddhist and yoga traditions. i have been a fire keeper in the mayan tradition for over 15 years. and for the last 3 years i have been a student and a practitioner of celtic earth based and divine masculine and feminine practices.

 

MY LABOR, FOCUS, AND VALUES

since 2012, i've provided guidance to groups/teams and individuals in the public, private, and non-profit sectors. from leadership development to instructional solutions to transformational change. my focus is always curating the causes and conditions for liberatory practices and liberated practitioners. 

my central values are clarity, creativity, care, sovereignty, and radicle self-love

  • i have earned a bachelor's of arts in theatre, a master's of education in secondary english language arts with a special education focus. both of these degrees are from umass boston. i earned a second master's in theological studies in indigenous traditions from harvard universities' divinity school.

    i have pursued my education for 14 years of my life.

  • my classroom training was in a residency based teacher training program, boston teacher residency program. i have trained as a yoga teacher with bo forbes in her 200 hour training and trained with tracee stanley in her level 1 and 2 tantric meditation training. my fire keeping training was with my elders and teachers nan jauna pacheco, and tat juan gonzalez.

    over more than 25 years i have taken many hours of professional development online and in-person in teaching and learning, program and curriculum development as well as continuing education on a variety of yoga based practices/topics

  • i have 20 years of teaching dance in schools, studies, community centers or retreat contexts. for more than 15 years i have taught hatha and theraputics yoga in the same contexts. for more than 10 years i taught in boston public schools and for 4 years i was a program director/manager in the same school system.

    for 8 years i have been self employed contracting and consulting with groups or individuals in the united states and in europe and the uk.

  • i am an enrolled member of the hassanamisco nipmuc band. i work with lama rod owens as a teaching and learning guide. i am a member of our seeds of our ancestors collective.
